Clearly we missed the mark and we apologize,” the company said in a statement on Wednesday, long after the memes and backlash surged on social media. Bernice King, Martin Luther King Jr.’s daughter, had one of the most retweeted responses to Pepsi’s ad, criticizing the company for making light of police responses to protests. Nivea faced similar backlash on Wednesday after it published an ad on Facebook with the slogan “white is purity.” The good news for Pepsi and Nivea is that there are ways to minimize a terrible ad campaign’s damage. Just ask the folks at SparkCentral, who helped Delta manage its social media crisis when YouTube star Adam Saleh accused the airliner of kicking him off for speaking Arabic. Gild Spotlight Predicts When Candidates Are Ready to Change Jobs
Gild, which powers the way companies find, engage and evaluate tech talent with data and intelligence, has now made recruiter outreach more effective with the release of Spotlight. An add-on feature of Gilds flagship product, Gild Source, Spotlight uses predictive analytics to determine whether a developer is actively looking for a job. The new product gives recruiters insight into which developers will be most receptive to being contacted about new job opportunities.
Spotlight uses an algorithm that incorporates over 20 million job change events and hundreds of signals that reflect new job readiness behavioral patterns, including location, years of work experience, job hopping behavior, and social network to create the Gild Availability score, a five-point score that ranges from Very Unlikely to Active. This data is refreshed every two weeks to keep the predictions fresh.
The announcement comes as the Gild team prepares for two panels at HR Tech, the worlds biggest conference on HR technology.

In hiring, a candidates availability can be just as important as his or her skill. The new Spotlight feature is completely integrated into Gild Source and Gilds browser extension.

What are social networking sites?
We define social network sites as web-based services that allow individuals to (1) construct a public or semi-public profile within a bounded system, (2) articulate a list of other users with whom they share a connection, and (3) view and traverse their list of connections and those made by others within the system. The nature and nomenclature of these connections may vary from site to site.
While we use the term “social network site” to describe this phenomenon, the term “social networking sites” also appears in public discourse, and the two terms are often used interchangeably. We chose not to employ the term “networking” for two reasons: emphasis and scope. “Networking” emphasizes relationship initiation, often between strangers. While networking is possible on these sites, it is not the primary practice on many of them, nor is it what differentiates them from other forms of computer-mediated communication (CMC).
All that social networking refers to is people coming together on a website to discuss similar interests. What! That’s it?
Yes, there is lot of ways to place it and revolve what this is, but in a nutshell that is it guys. These are a very dominant way to acquire a group of knowledgeable people to contribute what they know and how they learned. Not always are these groups about awareness, but in most cases they are.
The cause that these sites are super powerful as an online dealer is that you can meet people and get to recognize them. Most people appear at selling items like you actually have to sell an item. What I mean by that is that you can become a power seller of any product on these sites, not by trying to inform people to buy, but by making friends. Yes, accept as true it or not, it has been verified that people are more likely to buy and tell friends about products that are offered by somebody that they feel they know.
Social bookmarking sites are very similar to these network sites, the variation being the focus on sharing links to popular blogs, videos and pictures online. These sites have an incredible power to grow website traffic and raise your Google search engine listings immediately if you have a lot of friends on them!
So stop trying to sell and learn how to make some new friends and get prosperous instead!
