I was tweeting about a problem one of My Blogging School students had playing a Jing video on Twitter after someone I admired had mentioned it as a good resource for free Video Capture. A few minutes later a fellow asks me a few questions on Twitter about my issue with Jing. Turns out he was in charge of the JingProject Video development team and he had found my tweet and wanted to enhance the product by solving the problem that I had with it.
The whole reason I spend time on social networks is to meet people that can influence others. By meeting a person who had control of a product, I was influencing the development of that product. Social networks like Twitter, Facebook, Myspace and thousands of others place you in a large sea of people, but you have the ability to pick out those who have similar interests to your own.
It is this ability that makes Twitter so powerful. With a search capability that lets you find keywords as they are mentioned, you can join hundreds of conversations that are talking about your favorite topic. By doing so, you show that you are interesting to those people and they can decide to follow you and engage you.
I had been using a tool called ping.fm to broadcast messages to 30+ social networks and one of those, Utterli.com was adding text to the beginning of the message and truncating the end of the message, which sometimes made links unusable, because the url would be shortened and people would go to a 404 error page. I replied that it was only the Utterli posts that had this problem on Twitter and a few minutes later a fellow asked me what could be done to improve the utterli tweets.
I replied about the truncated links and he replied that he was one of the founders and that he was going to pass this information to his programming team. Without my involvement in the conversation, I would not have met this founder of utterli, and the problem would not have been brought to the attention of the programmers yet.

But you already have a warm market list right on social media, so start there. 2 Start shooting videos and putting them up on YouTube. Put them up on Facebook. Put them up on your Fanpage. Now with Instagram you can actually upload up to one minute in video footage. Video is a great way to create content for your business. You can do product reviews, your business opportunity reviews, of course without actually pitching your business. When you do that you will start generating more leads and more sales. More customers will start coming in and more people will want to join you in your business. 3 Put together a free offer. Give something away for free. For example, let’s say you were in the health and wellness industry and you were selling a shake. So instead of pitching your shake all the time, how about you add some valuable content by creating a capture page, creating a bridge page. We’ll talk about those in future videos coming. Create some kind of capture page with a free offer for someone to download a video of maybe you sharing your top ten ways to lose belly fat, then introduce your shake. Brightlocal is an all-in-one tool designed for SEO agencies, consultants or for local businesses to track and improve performance with local SEO campaigns. It offers tools such as rank tracking, citation tracking, review management, Google My Business optimization, website auditing and more. Brightlocal Review Overall this tool is an awesome suite of tools designed for helping you rank businesses higher in the Google local map pack specifically for local businesses. As soon as you login you have a main dashboard where you can manage your clients and locations for those clients. Brightlocal will have you enter in your client’s business information so they can search for existing business listings and information about the business. Citation Tracking Citations in my opinion is really just a fancy word to label ‘business listings’ such as Yelp, Google My Business, Yellowpages etc. If you have done any research about local SEO you will know that citations are very important for improving your rankings in the local map pack on Google. Brightlocal allows you to track and audit existing citations as well as sources where you may be missing a citation. They even offer a service where you can get them fixed or created for you. Overall the tracking works pretty good but you will sometimes see it finds sources that are slightly off (assuming it’s the same business with an in-consistency). You can use the citation audits to also determine what the top competitors have for citations based on a provided keyword. This is really powerful for matching your competitors and beating them at their own game by creating more high quality citations and improving existing ones to have the correct Name, Address and Phone (NAP) information. Review Tracking Another awesome feature is the ability to track reviews for the business. If you set this feature up to re-run the report every week you can get a full glimpse into new reviews for the business across all kinds of different review sites.
