Union County Votes Mobile Apps Launched for Anytime, Anywhere Voter Communications
Union County New Jersey Election App
Today, Joanne Rajoppi, the Union County Clerk released iPhone and Android applications to improve the mobile accessibility of their election information. The mobile applications provide citizens with instructions on registering to vote from their mobile device and allow their citizens to favorite critical election dates, find their polling place and request a vote-by-mail ballot application. Additional features include voter applications for checking their registration, applying to work at a polling place and military and Federal overseas voting information. Two videos on voting on the machines and by mail are also included in the app.
The apps also provide the county with the capability to send push notifications to app users to alert them on election information changes or to highlight critical election events, including upcoming deadlines and polling place location updates.
This is a critical first step for our county to reach our voters on the latest mobile devices, said Joanne Rajoppi, Union County Clerk. My goal is to make voting information available and accessible to every Union County voter. Engaging people through everyday technology puts the information, literally, at their fingertips.

The Union County Clerks Election Division offers a variety of services for the Union County voters and candidates. This Division prints and prepares Official, Sample, Vote By Mail, Emergency, and Provisional Ballots. This Division also processes Vote By Mail applications. The County Clerk also accepts petitions for all county offices, school board and for independent candidates. On election night, the Election Division tabulates election totals and makes them available on this website. The Clerk certifies election results to the New Jersey Division of Elections.

Audience Expansion for Online Social Network Advertising
Author: Haishan Liu, LinkedIn Corporation Abstract: Online social network advertising platforms, such as that provided by LinkedIn, generally allow marketers to specify targeting options so that their ads appear to a desired demographic. Audience Expansion is a technique developed at LinkedIn to simplify targeting and identify new audiences with similar attributes to the original target audience. We developed two methods to achieve Audience Expansion: campaign-agnostic expansion and campaign-aware expansion. In this paper, we describe the details of these methods, present in-depth analysis of their trade-offs, and demonstrate a hybrid strategy that possesses the combined strength of both methods. Through large scale online experiments, we show the effectiveness of the proposed approach, and as a result, the benefits it brings to the whole marketplace including both LinkedIn and advertisers. The achieved benefits can be characterized as: 1) simplified targeting process and increased reach for advertisers, and 2) better utilization of LinkedIns ads inventory and higher and more efficient market participation. To me it’s way easier to connect with people who are coming to you for the information versus you going to chase your family and friends. Now, again, I want to make this very clear, if that is your thing, great. For me I don’t want to do that. I know for most people they don’t want to do that either. Thank God for social media, because on social media you can actually tap into your warm market. Your warm market are your followers on your Fanpage. Your warm market are people on your mailing list if you’ve been building one. If you haven’t been building one, shame on you. But you already have a warm market list right on social media, so start there. 2 Start shooting videos and putting them up on YouTube. Put them up on Facebook. Put them up on your Fanpage. Now with Instagram you can actually upload up to one minute in video footage. Video is a great way to create content for your business. You can do product reviews, your business opportunity reviews, of course without actually pitching your business. When you do that you will start generating more leads and more sales. More customers will start coming in and more people will want to join you in your business. 3 Put together a free offer. Give something away for free. For example, let’s say you were in the health and wellness industry and you were selling a shake. So instead of pitching your shake all the time, how about you add some valuable content by creating a capture page, creating a bridge page. We’ll talk about those in future videos coming. Create some kind of capture page with a free offer for someone to download a video of maybe you sharing your top ten ways to lose belly fat, then introduce your shake. If you are, let’s say, in the travel niche and you want to sell your travel program, why not just put together a free offer, a free PDF download with at list of your top 100 family destinations. Through there you can sell them on your travel membership. Do you see where I’m going with this? These are great sales prospecting techniques you can start using in your business right now.
