The new social network
Social Networks are everywhere these days – you cannot fail to have heard of MySpace, YouTube or FaceBook – they are 3 of the biggest sites on the ‘Web right now. With Blogs, they are redefining the means ordinary folks are using the Internet – and business has caught on to this. It’s rare to travel daily now without reading how any smart Net Marketer is making the most of Social Networking to promote their merchandise or services.
What’s a Social Network?
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia – A social network could be a social structure created of nodes (that are generally individuals or organizations) that are tied by a number of specific varieties of interdependency, such as values, visions, idea, financial exchange, friends, kinship, dislike, conflict, trade, web links, sexual relations, disease transmission (epidemiology), or airline routes.Social network analysis views social relationships in terms of nodes and ties. Nodes are the individual actors within the networks, and ties are the relationships between the actors. There will be many kinds of ties between the nodes. Analysis in a variety of educational fields has shown that social networks operate on several levels, from families up to the level of nations, and play a crucial role in determining the manner problems are solved, organizations are run, and also the degree to that individuals reach achieving their goals. In its simplest kind, a social network is a map of all of the relevant ties between the nodes being studied. The network can additionally be used to determine the social capital of individual actors. These ideas are usually displayed in a social network diagram, where nodes are the points and ties are the lines. Is that clear enough? I see eyes crossing everywhere at this time in time, so I’ll clarify – basically a social network is a means of illustrating the relationships between individuals – who is aware of who, what links they need, and thus on. e.g. On the Social Networking sites I frequent, I am in social networks with all my friends, individuals in my region, folks who subscribe to the same groups as me, and people who share my interests.
Social Network Services
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia – A social network service focuses on the building and verifying of on-line social networks for communities of individuals who share interests and activities, or who are curious about exploring the interests and activities of others, and which necessitates the use of software. Most social network services are primarily internet primarily based and provide a collection of various ways that for users to interact, like chat, messaging, email, video, voice chat, file sharing, blogging, discussion teams, and thus on. The most sorts of social networking services are those which contain directories of some classes (such as former classmates), means to attach with friends (sometimes with self-description pages), and suggested systems linked to trust. Widespread methods now mix many of those, with MySpace, Bebo and FaceBook being the principally widely employed in 2007.
Why are Social Networking Sites necessary to On-line Businesses?
Why this can be important to on-line marketers is because they are a nice way of finding individuals who are looking for what you’re giving – say you were marketing a football newsletter, you may quickly find folks curious about football via the Social Networking sites and communicate with them. By keeping your page recent, contributing to forums and blogs, and messaging your new friends you’ll be able to start to make up a relationship with alternative members, therefore increasing the reach of your promotional messages. If you’ll become seen as an professional in your field on a Social Networking Web site, you will soon notice potential customers come back to you instead of you having to find them.
One thing you would like to avoid on Social Networking Sites is blatant advertising, or use of mass friend-adders or mass messaging – you’ll soon notice yourself deleted – as I discovered after adding some 700 individuals to my profile in a very week, and sending them a duplicate/paste message. Many provide paid ways of contacting specific parts of their member base, but do not such as you doing it yourself free! Thus learn from my mistake and do what I do now, use them to send targeted messages to specific individuals, and when you would like to speak with giant numbers directly, do it via the forums as you’re meant to!
There are currently many completely different sorts of Social Networking sites – the final, like MySpace, Bebo and FaceBook, and the additional targeted for specific pursuits or groups. Therefore move out and be part of a minimum of three – and begin to seek out folks who are interested in the same things as you, and the items that you are offering. Make friends, notice allies, reach out to an entire new section of your market. Social Networking Sites are an necessary tool to possess in your arsenal today. Use them wisely.

Social Media Network Building Easy Branches
Internet marketers know that the key to making sales is to have a big list of contacts, and contact them often.
As a marketer of any kind, you should be aware that your potential customers need to be continually aware of the product or service you are offering, as well as any special deals you may have. There’s one key ingredient to making a sale: asking for it.
If you don’t get out there and contact your market and ask for the sales, you aren’t going to see your profits grow.
There are a small percentage of people from your contact lists that will probably never make a purchase from you, but a much larger percentage are on the fence. They’re waiting for the right time to buy, the right offer to be made, or the right testimonial to read.
Instead of waiting for the day they do order your product, increase the odds of a sale by increasing the size of your list. While you’ll always want to be reaching the customer who’s on the verge of buying, you also want to reach a larger audience of could-be buyers.
A few list building ideas you may have tried include asking for newsletter signups, offering a free report or product sample, or hosting a contest that requires submission of contact information.
One of the newest ways marketers are adding to their contact lists is through social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
Some of these networking sites are limited as far as the way you can reach your contacts and how timely the information remains once it is posted. For instance, on Twitter, you can post a link to a signup form only to have it buried by other tweets within minutes.
Facebook, on the other hand, allows marketers and other business owners to create fan pages. These are mini-sites within the network, and they allow people interested in your product or service to “become a fan” and receive regular updates from you.
These are sent by you in the form of updates and can be sent at the time interval of your choosing, just like regular Facebook updates. The difference is that as a page owner, you can send updates not only to your fans’ thread of status updates, but also to their email. Essentially, once someone signs up as a fan of your page, you’ve added to your contacts.
List building with social networking is a new but highly effective tool for getting your message across to potential buyers. That message is that you have a product to offer and it benefits them.
The rules for sending out emails or communications to your Facebook fans are the same as ending them out to any other mailing list. That is–keep your messages short, effective, and not too frequent. Once you build your list up to the size you need to get the percentage of sales you desire, the last thing you want to do is scare away.
How to Easily Post to Multiple Social Networking Sites Using Hashtags
http://www.boorhodes.com Hello! Today I’m going to show you how to post to multiple social networking sites with just one post to another site. It’s SO EASY! I found this tool because I realized that using the autopost feature from Instagram to Twitter no longer posted a picture tweet. We all know how much Twitter followers love to retweet picture tweets more than tweets with just links so I wanted to find a tool to help with this problem. Watch this video to easily find out how to use http://www.ifttt.com to post content and media to multiple sites at once. What is even sweeter? I can post multiple posts to Instagram and send the resulting posts to different places using hashtags! For example, I have my makeup business at http://www.hautelashmascara.com and my WAHM Internet help site at http://www.facebook.com/boorhodesdotcom. If I wanted to send a link to my facebook page for boorhodesdotcom, I use the hashtag #boorhodes. If I want to send Awesome mascara posts to my personal facebook page or football posts from my son’s games I might use the hash tag #younique or #footballmom, respectively. Can you see how easy this is? I totally LOVE it! I would love to see you set up some of your own IFTTT.com if then structures and tell me what you’ve done in the comments to share your experience. Comment and let me know! PS – It seems you can only link 1 facebook business page at a time. If I find a workaround I will let you know.
How Social Networks Have Changed The World!
One definition of the word revolution is a sudden and complete change in something. A famous example, of course, is the American Revolution. Another is the counterculture revolution of the U. S. and much of Europe in the 1960s. Currently, the social media network is spreading the most.
Social media has transformed people from content consumers to content producers. How knowledge and information spread has undergone radical change. In the past, we were used to the monologues of broadcast media: one person delivering information to the rest of us. We know this typically in the form of newspaper articles and TV newscasts.
However, because of the new social media revolution, these familiar norms are being forced to amalgamate themselves with the unfamiliar new. Now called dialogues of social media, not just one person but also many are now the disseminators of information. We now both gather and produce information, which is why we can be called content producers.
Several forms of this are common. One well-known one is ideas or concepts designed to be easily regurgitated so that they are easily repeated often to others. Another form is print media, which is designed to be reproduced to the masses. A third form is the movement at ground level of direct dispersement, including rallies, demonstrations, and public speaking. A fourth is the mass sharing of information from advanced search-capable Internet and mobile devices.
Major differences exist between social media and traditional media, also known as broadcast, industrial, or mass media. To start, because industrial media normally requires more resources to share what it knows, social media tends to be less expensive. It’s also more accessible, too. Next, in the structured world of traditional media, specialized training is imperative. In the unstructured world of social media, no such training is required. Social media can be used and operated by anyone.
Third, the impact on response time and newsworthiness has been profound. While in social media, this can be instantaneous, the same can take hours or even days in mass media. However, as the influence of social media on traditional media grows, this difference will probably become minimal.
A fourth difference is the issue of permanence. In social media, articles or blogs can be edited for content immediately and constantly, as is necessary. This is not true in traditional media, as once an article is published, it cannot be changed. Other things might be necessary, such as apologies or retractions, but the original article cannot be modified.
There are similarities between the two forms of media. They both are capable of reaching either a very small audience or a very large one. A TV newscast might be seen worldwide or just nowhere else but your small community. A blog post or tweet can reach the same range of people.
Of course, it is hard to predict the future direction of both social media and traditional media. One school of thought is that a hybridization of the two is occurring and will continue to. In this case, it is use of both mass and social media frameworks. In fact, this hybrid is already being used more and more.
