So I read a recent research study done on a multitude of brands and the results? Not that surprising. A little under 50% of the brands studied said that the jury was out on social media. Why’s that not surprising? Well, one can’t exactly measure the return on the investment as easily as one might like. It takes a lot of time and resources to track all the data necessary, or you just have to luck out and have an ingenious analyst on your team. And the inherent value isn’t exactly forthcoming either. Reputation isn’t as easily tracked as one might think, but that’s what it does. Social Media investment, at it’s core, creates a massive return on reputation. The trouble is that controlling that reputation is so difficult. Why?
Having a veritable cornucopia of positive social opportunities means you also have just as many negative social opportunities. Keeping the balance can be tedious. One slip up and you can have the hounds on your tail, losing favor universally. The cost of setting up a social media investment is easily calculated. The return? Not so much. A lot of digital marketers play the guess and check method of throwing money at a campaign they think might have value and then checking if there was any verifiable return. This happens more often than you think. Now you may have thought to yourself, if under 50% of the brands were unsure, what did the other think? Well let me break it down for you. All but 1% of those studied acknowledged that there was some value in social media investment. It’s crazy I know. 35% of that noticed a similar or increased return than from other types of media investment.
What does this all break down to? Well, it’s becoming undeniable that Digital and Social Media marketing is on the rise. In the future there may be a complete switch to either. We need to get on this train FAST before we become totally obsolete. Who’s with me?

GIRLSASKGUYS STUDY: Millennials Overwhelming Prefer Brunettes over Redheads, Blondes
Hair Color Survey
Marilyn Monroes platinum blonde look may no longer be the ultimate in sexual appeal according to a new study about what the opposite sex believes about hair color and attractiveness.
In a poll of nearly 600 Americans on GirlsAskGuys (GirlsAskGuys.com) a cross-gender question-and-answer social community with more than 10 million monthly participants consumers were asked about preferences in hair color in the opposite sex. Both men and women under 30 overwhelmingly said they preferred brunettes to both blondes and redheads.
What were seeing is that despite a lot of media portrayals to the contrary, people tend to prefer brunettes, said Tolga Tanriseven, founder and CEO of GirlsAskGuys. Its a wake-up call for advertisers, as well as media producers that actively court the millennial demographic. Sprinkle in some blondes and redheads in your productions, but feature the brunettes.
More than 65 percent of women said they prefer brunette men versus blondes (20 percent) and redheads (15 percent); while 49 percent of men said they prefer brunettes versus redheads (30 percent) and blondes (21 percent). In particular, males under age 18 are the most attracted to brunettes, with 55 percent choosing them over redheads and blondes.
Taken on GirlsAskGuys.com the poll was taken by 282 women and 306 men during the month of August.
Both men and women were then split over their preference for either redheads or blondes, which was most apparent for men ages 25-29, who prefer redheads (35 percent) over blondes (15 percent). Conversely, 20 percent of women prefer blonde men, compared to just 15 percent of redheads. The discrepancy is largest for women 25-29, who prefer blondes (21 percent) over redheads by (12 percent).

How to Build Your Social Network to Create Top Ranking in Tourism
In today’s web-dominant world, social media recruiting is no longer a choice for recruiters and hiring managers. The social media has taken the whole recruiting industry by storm and the recruiting fraternity is using social media as one of their major recruiting strategies. The early adopters have already started to reap the benefits and more and more recruiters and hiring managers are increasingly using social networking channels to source & screen job candidates and perform candidate background checks.
Recruiters and employers use social media for various reasons like branding, targeting a specific talent pool, attracting Gen Y candidates, engaging passive candidates, increasing employee engagement, building a relationship with job candidates, building an online community, etc. On top of all this, social media is almost free or there is only minimal investment.
Surveys reveal that more than 70% of the companies use social media as one of their recruiting strategies.
